FIFA 2026 World Cup Volunteer Programme Opens Applications
FIFA has officially launched the application process for its 2026 World Cup Volunteer Programme, which is expected to be the largest in the organisation’s history, welcoming more than 65,000 volunteers worldwide.
The announcement came from FIFA President Gianni Infantino via his Instagram, highlighting that the 2026 edition will be the first-ever World Cup hosted across three countries — the United States, Canada, and Mexico. With 104 matches across 16 host cities, it will also be the biggest tournament to date.
Infantino stated:
“This will be the most extensive volunteer initiative FIFA has ever organised. Volunteers represent the spirit and energy of our tournaments. They showcase local culture, gain unique behind-the-scenes experiences, and build lifelong friendships while contributing to a historic sporting milestone.”
